I can't see what is "Answers of the Day" or the "Question of the Day" or "Morning Shift" etc.
Kinja people, can you fix this?
And also, the images for mobile new-kinja still aren't showing up on the front page of Jalopnik.

Me as well. I only go there for QOTD, AOTD and COTD. None are marked as such until you open it.

Hey, we did away with a lot of front page elements in order to clean up the appearance. Unfortunately, tags was among the cuts. You'll still find them inside the post though.
Images was a cut made to improve performance on mobile devices. We realize completely removing images (only small images - big images will still display) may be a little to drastic, so we're discussing ways to bring them back while staying in line with our current focus to improve mobile performance.

Tags don't clean up anything. They were such a small thing. It added more by having them than it improved by removing them.
Please understand this.

Unfortunately, some things are just out of my control. To be honest, I'm a bit surprised at the lack of outcry for tags being removed. I expect this to pick up once 1.2 goes live everywhere, but even then it may not be enough to change this.
I'm rooting for them to come back, fwiw.
